劉和讓個展「晚報」

在臺灣股市狂飆的年代，《晚報》曾是承載經濟指數的重要載體；然而對少年時期的劉和讓而言，週末晚報的藝文副刊與手工剪報，卻是他建構文化想像、測量時間的獨特刻度。

這場展覽如同一份遲來的「晚報」，集結了藝術家跨越漫長歲月的創作軌跡。此次展演刻意部署於三個不同的地理座標——ss space space、spd，以及嘉義的「365 號路東森林」。延續其自 2017 年於北美館個展《境物虛擬》以來的探問，劉和讓將這三處視為共有時間與離散空間的對話節點，試圖解構訊息的傳遞，追溯記憶被物質形塑後，那份游移且延遲的「暫留」關係。

During the frenzied heights of Taiwan’s economic boom, the evening paper was a crucial vessel for the day’s market indices. Yet, for an adolescent Hojang Liu, the weekend cultural supplements and his hand-snipped newspaper cuttings formed a unique metric for constructing his cultural imagination and measuring time.

This exhibition functions as a belated ‘evening edition’, gathering the creative trajectories that have occupied the artist over many years. The presentation is deliberately situated across three distinct geographical sites: ss space space, spd, and ‘365 East Forest Road’ in Chiayi. Extending the spatial enquiries initiated in his 2017 Taipei Fine Arts Museum solo exhibition, ‘Virtual Habitat’, Liu treats these three locations as shared junctures of collective time and dispersed space. He seeks to deconstruct the transmission of information, tracing the elusive, lingering afterimages that remain once memory is given physical form.
